There are now going to be two Royal Wedding’s this year after Princess Eugenie and long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank announced they would be getting married later this year soon after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle say their vows. The second wedding, however, could be very awkward for Meghan as there will a guest at the wedding that she won’t want to meet.

A few weeks ago Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement and it’s all people have been talking about ever since. The most Royal affair there is, a Royal Wedding, is a no expenses spared event which will put the UK at the centre of the world stage. Just weeks after the Prince’s wedding was announced, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have announced their wedding will take place a few weeks after.

Princess Eugenie is Prince Harry’s cousin and her wedding will take place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in the autumn. She has been with her boyfriend since they met on a skiing holiday all the way back in 2011 and announced they got engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month.

One thing Meghan Markle didn’t think she’d be doing this Autumn is feeling awkward at a wedding, however, with this announcement she could be feeling very awkward. With her being the centre of attention at her wedding, for Eugenie’s she is expected to try and avoid the limelight and one other guest in particular.

As part of Eugenie’s bridal party, there is expected to be one particular member that might cause a bit of a problem for the princess to be. Her bridal party is expected to include no other than Harry’s ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas, who Harry dated for nearly two years and who is also an actress and model.

During their old relationship, she accompanied him on several official engagements and despite the pair parting ways they have remained good friends. The split in 2014 was supposedly because of the added attention of dating a Royal and Cressida was not willing to keep that relationship going. This is something Meghan is willing to live with and so when the two of them meet things could be a bit awkward.

The bridal party is also expected to have a few other famous faces with her sister, Princess Beatrice as her maid of honour. Close friends Molly Whitehall and Jules de Boinville are expected to be in the bridal party too.

Eugenie is officially 8th in line to the throne and while she isn’t one of the main Royals she is often in the public eye along with her sister Beatrice. The announcement of her wedding is another Royal event to add to the calendar but unfortunately for those of us not invited to the wedding, there will be no Bank Holiday for either wedding.

The Queen is apparently very happy with the new engagement and from a spokesman from the Buckingham Palace, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh “are very pleased and wish the couple all the best.”

Princess Eugenie’s engagement ring was first seen on Monday and contains the rarest of all the sapphires and is perhaps a major tribute to her mother. The sapphire is a padparadscha and it is surrounded by many diamonds.

Princess Eugenie’s parents are the Duke and Duchess of York and in a statement from them, the palace announced the wedding:

“The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Eugenie to Mr Jack Brooksbank. Her Royal Highness and Mr Brooksbank became engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month. The wedding will take place in the Autumn of 2018 at George’s Chapel in Windsor, with further details to be announced in due course.”

Later the Duke of York said: “I’m absolutely overjoyed. I’m thrilled. Jack is an absolutely outstanding young man and Eugenie and he have got to know each other over a number of years, and I’m really thrilled for them.”

The Duke said they are “getting it all organised”, but “we can’t fix a date yet, we’ve got to look at everyone’s diaries. It’s a bit more complicated than that.”

“But today it’s their day. I’m just completely overjoyed for them and wish them every happiness.”

Princess Eugenie’s mother Sarah Ferguson was very vocal on Twitter about the engagement. She tweeted multiple times, the first being “Total joy!! #engagement @TheDukeOfYork.”

The picture of the couple also has the words “A total embrace of goodness and joy. We love Jack and I am so excited to have a son, a brother and a best friend. Eugenie is one of the finest people I know and so together it will be pure harmony” accompanying it.

Another tweet had the picture of the couple on a boat. She wrote with the picture “They float with laughter and love .. although a boat helps! #engagement #eugieandjack @TheDukeOfYork @yorkiebea.”

Her mother is clearly over the moon with the news and she has tweeted several more times since these two. Her next tweet has simply a hashtag and some tags along with it. It reads: “#jackandeugie @TheDukeOfYork @yorkiebea”.

Overlayed on the image are the words “They make laughter and we feel the joy .. thank you for the magic. Jack and Eugie so proud of you.”

Another tweet reads: “I always say that the river flows to it’s destiny because of the guidance of a solid rock #engagement #eugieandjack @TheDukeOfYork @TheDukeOfYork”

It’s clear the Duchess of York is extremely happy for the pair and we are too!
