NOTTINGHAM train station has been evacuated after a huge fire broke out, with the blaze being tackled by firefighters.

East Midlands Trains, which operate at the station, said in a statement: “There is a fire at Nottingham station. This is disrupting our trains on all routes through Nottingham.

“At present the station has been evacuated and the fire services are on site.

“The station is currently closed. and all of our cannot run to or from Nottingham.

“At present we are expecting the line to fully reopen in the next 30 minutes.

“We are currently looking at alternative arrangements to keep you on the move.”
