THE camera never lies – but these optical illusions prove your eyes do. The two pictures of a street  have sent the internet crazy as people argue about whether or not the images are identical.

Debate has raged – just as happened with the discussion a few years ago about whether that dress was gold and white, or black and blue. Here, AMY READING takes a squint at other mind-bending images.

The two pictures look different – the road on the right seemingly veering off at a greater angle than the one on the left. Are they curvy or do they only appear to be?

Which shape is longer?

If you think B is longer, you're not alone

The obvious answer is B – but in fact it is exactly the same as A. The only reason B looks longer than A is that it has been placed slightly farther to the right. There, simple as A, B.

How many colours can you see?

Did you say four?
Did you say four?

You may think four – pink, orange, blue and green. In fact, the answer is three – the “green” and blue are both blue. They only look different because of the varying colours they are seen next to. But hue’d never believe it!
